Rather than a three-year agreement, the memorandum specifies a one-year term of the agreement to allow the parties to review and update it if necessary. The agreement says that the district will receive $1,800 per incident that falls outside of their district, excluding Castle Valley. Regardless of the number of incidents, they will receive a minimum of $50,000 and a maximum of $100,000.
The board approved the agreement unanimously.
“[The one-year contract] will give us both a chance to re-look at it and see where we’re at,” said Moab Fire Department Chief Phil Mosher.
