Castle Valley is 17 miles N.E from Moab (from turn off-Highway 191 onto 128) then turn right at the Castle Valley Inn sign (after passing Red Cliffs Lodge) or from Grand Junction: via Cisco onto 128. After passing Sorrel River ranch turn left at the Castle Valley Inn sign. From there follow the gourd festival signs, you're almost there!
Description:
The Castle Valley Gourd Festival will be on Saturday, 20 October 2012, 10 am - 3 pm.
You can find us at the Castle Valley Community Lot, Castle Valley, Utah (N.E. of Moab). Follow the signs from 128 near Castle Valley turn-off.
We invite you to celebrate the beauty and versatility of hard shelled gourds and gourd art with us. Come, play and enjoy this event in the unique surroundings of this valley.
Schedule:
8:00 - 10:00 am - Set Up for artists
10:00 OPEN
Activities: Displays of gourd art and raw gourds, Kid’s Booth, Hands-On booth, Demos, Maté, Silent Auction, Music, Gourd Gallery, Face Painting, Fortune Telling, Puppet show
12 noon - Parade with the Gourd Goddess and the Gourd Giant Gourdy.
12:30 pm - Potluck Lunch (please, do bring your favorite dish to share and for eating your own plate and utensils)
2:30 pm - Awards
3:00 pm - Take Down & Clean Up

GOURD ARTISTS
There is no fee to show and sell your gourd art or raw gourds. Because of this, SALES WILL BE LIMITED TO GOURDS ONLY.
No other vendors, please.
Bring your own set-up for your gourd display (it may be windy).
- Feel free to demonstrate your gourd technique.
- Consider donating a piece to our silent auction.
- Think of making some $5.- to $10.- items.
GOURD GALLERY is looking for extraordinary gourd items to display: traditional and contemporary design, international gourd art, utilitarian gourds, or a favorite piece you have created.
