A local automobile dealer recently donated a pickup truck to The Solutions, a Moab-based volunteer recycling group.

Moab Auto Group presented Solutions founder Sara Melnicoff with the keys to a 1989 Chevrolet half-ton pickup on Sept. 24.

“When I lost ‘Big Brownie,’ the 1978 pickup truck I used for Solutions work the past four years, I was devastated,” Melnicoff said.

Melnicoff said news of the donation left her speechless.

“I was stunned into silence… My heartfelt thanks to the good folks at the Moab Auto Group for putting this together.”

A Moab Auto Group representative said the company decided to donate the truck after learning of The Solutions’ need for a replacement vehicle.

“Moab Auto Group, in appreciation for all the time and effort that Solutions of Moab does to keep the community and surrounding areas of Moab clean was pleased to donate a ‘recycled’ truck to help in this effort,” the representative said.

Moab Auto Group operates two dealerships in Moab – Moab Ford and Moab Chevrolet, both located on south Main Street.
