Bisco, a fourth-grader, is the daughter of Josh and Kali Bisco. Bisco’s teacher, Charlotte Quigley, described her as “one of the most thoughtful students I have ever had.”
“She is a friend to everyone, and is always there to help a student when needed,” Quigley said. “Whenever I need something done in the classroom, she is always there to offer to help. She is positive and brings a cheerful smile to everyday in the classroom.”
Butterfield, is the daughter of James and Emily Butterfield and is a third-grade student in Kari Dworkin’s class. Dworkin said that Butterfield “brings smiles and organization to class every day.”
“She is always willing to help her teacher and her classmates with any extra work. She is a great role model and excellent at following directions,” Dworkin said. “One of the most impressive skills Lexi possesses is her ability to ignore distractions. Thank you Lexi for always doing your best and helping the people around you do their best.”
Sakrison and the Moab City Council presented the awards to Bisco and Butterfield during the May 22 city council meeting.
The HMK Students of the Month are selected by the faculty and staff of the school based on their all-around citizenship and their involvement within their school. The city of Moab presents the award as part of an ongoing effort to foster and recognize the contributions of young people within the community in practicing good citizenship.
