Canyonlands Field Institute will hold its annual Geo Whiz field camp program for local kids, Aug. 4-7. The program, based in the La Sal Mountains, also includes a river trip and environmental education games and activities, according to a news release from CFI.

The program, for kids entering the fourth through seventh grades, highlights mountain and river ecology while offering local youth the opportunity “to experience their home turf from a different perspective,” CFI officials said.

The program is underwritten by Grand County Recreation Special Service District, Wabi-Sabi’s Make a Difference Fund and donors to Canyonlands Field Institute. Scholarships are available based on need.
