Changes like these don’t necessarily make me happy, but rather I find myself on the edge of becoming a little grumpy.
The Utah Legislature, along with the support of the governor’s office, has proposed legislation that will change the state’s tree. Goodbye Colorado blue spruce and hello quaking aspen. Making a change like this is nothing to sneeze about, and I fear those dodo birds on Capitol Hill might next try and oust the California seagull as our state bird. To that I say, “Doc, those folks are cuckoo.”
I think I now know how that old woman who lived in that shoe felt. Snow White, let me tell you, “Trying to keep these kids in skool and git ‘em an edumakation ain’t easy.” I would love your help and advice on this one, ‘cause Dear Abby is dead and Paul Harvey isn’t here to tell me the rest of the story.
Now, I’ve been known to spin a yarn or two but this is no tall tale.
