I desire to see people saved from harm, judgment and condemnation. It is not loving to allow people to destroy themselves without warning them. It is not loving to allow lies that damn people to go forth without a challenge. Many children and young people are watching us; who can tell how radically they will respond to the current moral free-fall if no one speaks out.
It is out of concern that I speak today. What selfish gain is there for me presenting this in the current cultural environment? So briefly, here is my perspective:
Our Creator has not left us alone. He has spoken to us in His word and walked among us as Jesus Christ. God is kind to warn us and to be so clear about the issue at hand; here is one of many examples from His word:
“Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived ... abusers of themselves with mankind ... shall [not] inherit the kingdom of God.” (1 Corinthians 6:9-10).
Our English Bible (KJB) is perhaps euphemistic here. The phrase “abusers of themselves with mankind” is from a Greek word that is translated “homosexuals” in most modern versions, though more explicitly in the New King James version.
For the sake of understanding, please hear me: In true Christian opposition to same-gender unions there is honest concern expressed and genuine hope extended. No creature is safe unreconciled to its Creator. The following words are God’s words to ALL people, GLBTQ, religious, or otherwise:
“And the times of this ignorance God [overlooked]; but now commandeth all men everywhere to repent: Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.” (Acts 17:30-31).
