GCHS cross country runners named to Academic All-State team

At the state cross country championships held last Wednesday, Oct. 21 at Sugarhouse Park, Grand County High’s boys team placed fifth out of eight 2A teams.

Grand junior Derek Hawks was 10th overall with a time of 18:32.

Senior Brandon Johnson of GCHS was named to the Academic All-State team.

In addition, Caitlyn Howe, Audrey Baird, and Tailor Talbot from Grand’s girls cross country team also earned Academic All-State honors.
