Grand County High School has been selected to receive a $5,000 back-to-school grant from the Dollar General Literacy Foundation. The grant provides funding to schools for new programs, equipment, materials or software for the GCHS library or literacy program.

“I fondly remember visiting my school library as a child and the excitement of checking out a library book,” said Rick Dreiling, Dollar General’s chairman and CEO. “We created the back-to-school grant to ensure that other children have this same opportunity. We’re proud to support Grand County High School’s literacy initiatives with this grant.”

Grand County High School is one of 1,101 organizations to receive a grant from the Dollar General Literacy Foundation this year.

The Dollar General Literacy Foundation was created in 1993 to improve the functional literacy of adults and families by providing grants to nonprofit organizations dedicated to the advancement of literacy.
