This really isn’t an ad for the Moab Ice Company, but I have to say, they do have some of the best ice in the West. I spend a lot of time in the Mojave Desert, eating out of a cooler, and consider myself an ice aficionado.

There are three places to get good ice in the west, one in Blythe, Calif., one in Barstow (but expensive), and Moab Ice. Besides being frozen solid (not compressed shavings), Moab Ice comes in 15 pound blocks. The price is crazy cheap – under $2 – unheard of. It is awesome.

I know there are perhaps more important things to write letters about and raise awareness on various issues, but as the summer heats up, appreciating good ice does no one harm!
