He grew up in the Carbon County area and was the youngest of three children and has lived in Moab, Utah for the past fifty years. John joined the USMC at the age of seventeen and served in World War II and the Korean War, he was released with an honorable discharge.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Ann Rose Fugate. They were married June 23 1976. He is also survived by his children, Doni (Mike) Corbin, Rocky (Anna) Adams, Lea Gale (Chris) Blake, Renie (Merrill) Shumway, Tina (Jimmy) Coker, Kevin (Tina) Irvine, Troy Irvine; his 15 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Valdee Adams, daughter, Candice Adams-Wade, son, Claude Dirk Adams, grandson, Elvis Tyler Adams, granddaughter, Coral Lammert, and great-granddaughter Jessalyn Ashley Johnson.
John’s graveside service was Saturday, May 3 at the Sunset Memorial Gardens, with a military honor and 21-gun solute performed by the Local VFW and American Legion.
