Jason Robert Stringham, 41, was pronounced dead at the scene on Interstate 40 near Hinton, Okla., after he apparently jumped in front of a semi-truck on Sept. 13.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, driver Beverly Brown was traveling eastbound in the outside lane of Interstate 40 at about 2:16 a.m. when a pedestrian leaped in front of her Volvo semi-truck.
The impact of the collision threw Stringham into a ditch, and Brown’s vehicle came to a controlled stop nearby.
Brown, 58, and passenger Cowboy Brown, 57, both of Maplewood, Ohio, were wearing seatbelts at the time; neither one was injured.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported that Beverly Brown’s condition appeared to be normal. “Pedestrian action” was the apparent cause of the collision, according to a highway patrol trooper’s investigation of the incident.
