The new session, which will be held Aug. 6-9, is for kids entering grades five through eight and includes four days and three nights of supervised camping in the La Sal Mountains near Moab. Campers are “on retreat” and may not come and go to town each night nor have visitors. Two CFI adult staff and one teenage assistant will be with the group throughout the camp. All have educator clearances, according to a news release from CFI.
The cost is $150 per child. The price for Grand County students is $100. The fee includes transportation, tents, meals, land-use permits, and hiking, games and nature activities. A 10 percent discount is available for siblings, and additional scholarship assistance is available for qualifying Grand County families.
