Coyote Shuttle will offer a free lift to the top of the Moab Canyon Pathway. Riders can pedal back to town or leave a car at the Courthouse Wash parking lot on U.S. 191 to finish the ride. Magpie Cycling Adventures will offer free mountain bike instruction and trail riding with Maggie Wilson beginning at 9 a.m. Participants will meet at the Museum of Moab at 9 a.m. The event is scheduled to conclude at about 3 p.m., according to the news release. Call 435-259-5884 to reserve.
For road cyclists, the Moab Saturday Ride group will convene at the southwest corner of Swanny City Park to ride 40 miles to the Potash Road and back. Cyclists can also meet the group at 9:20 a.m. on the Potash Road just past the U.S. 191 turnoff. The group will pedal to Gold Bar and back, covering 20 miles. At 4 p.m., at the site of the 24 Hours of Moab race, kids are invited to race in a “24 Minutes of Moab” event. The events are sponsored by the Museum of Moab and its partners to help celebrate Moab’s bike history. The museum plans to hold more bike celebratory events as National Bike Month rolls around in May 2013, officials said.
