Betty was born to William Clifford and Birdie Price Lurvey on July 2, 1923 in Grand Junction, Colo. After graduating from high school she married Art Sagrillo in January of 1942. They moved to Moab, Utah, in the early 1960s, where she continued to live. Art passed away in 1998.
Betty loved the great scenic views of Moab. She also enjoyed being involved in the Senior Center with any capacity she could. She was loved by many and will be missed by us all.
Betty is survived her son, Alert (Kris) Sagrillo of Paradox, Colo.; five grandchildren, Phil Christensen of San Diego, Calif., Tony Vada Sagrillo of Fruita, Colo., Brandon (Victoria) Sagrillo of Grand Junction, Colo., Stephanie Sagrillo of Clifton, Colo., Teri McKenzie of Monte Vista, Colo.; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Art; a sister, Mildred Burkey; two brothers, Raymond and Charles Lurvey; a son, Kenneth Sagrillo; and Sherryl MacLeod.
At Betty’s request, cremation has taken place and a memorial service was held in her honor on Nov. 3, 2012 at 1 p.m. at the Spanish Valley Mortuary.
