As a result of legislation passed during the 2012 general session of the Utah Legislature, changes were made to the makeup of the five boards that oversee DEQ’s six divisions - air quality, radiation control, drinking water, water quality, and solid and hazardous waste. Board positions for each division are to be filled with representatives from government, industry, health professionals and community organizations, according to the news release.
Utah Gov. Gary Herbert’s office reviews applicants and sends nominees’ names to the Senate, which votes to confirm the appointments.
Applications must be submitted electronically at www.utah.gov/governor/boards.
