Hahn, 51, will be at a pre-event party from 4-5:30 p.m. with Steamworks Brewing providing beer and appetizers. The formal presentation starts at 6 p.m. Tickets are $15 for the slideshow and talk or $25 for both sessions.
Hahn’s 14 Everest summits are the most by any non-Sherpa. He also has summited Antarctica’s highest peak, Vinson Massif, 27 times and Mount McKinley 20 times. Hahn is employed by Rainier Mountaineering Inc. of Ashford, Wash., and has made more than 250 ascents of Mount Rainier.
He specializes in guiding on the world’s highest mountains, and was a member of the 1999 team that discovered George Mallory’s body at 27,000 feet on the north side of Mount Everest. Mallory died while climbing the mountain in 1924 with Andrew Irvine, and it remains unknown whether he reached the summit or not.
The U.S. Department of the Interior awarded its Citizen’s Award to Hahn in 2009 for his rescue of an injured climber on Mount Rainier seven years earlier. The rescue became more noteworthy because the helicopter transporting Hahn crashed before the rescue and Hahn helped evacuate the pilot before attending to the injured climber.
