We spend thousands of dollars to make sure visitors can ride their bikes, jeep, hike and have a good time here.
In the 50-plus years I’ve lived here, all I’ve seen in return besides the burnt bridge is everything getting destroyed.
Why can’t we spend a few thousand to restore the old bridge? That’s the only bridge the old-timers had, including William Grandstaff, or Negro Bill, or whatever you want to call him.
As a kid around here, crossing that old bridge was one of my favorite experiences I can remember, including Arches National Monument. I’d rather go drive across the Dewey Bridge in my mom and dad’s 1960 Lincoln.
Back then, if you had trouble, the first person you saw would stop and lend a hand. Now, you’re lucky if they even look at you or slow down to the speed limit.
What happened to Moab?
I can’t remember the last time I heard of someone getting mugged for trying to help someone else.
Seems like there’s nothing more important than the almighty dollar anymore.
Anyway, we should at least try to help the old bridge out. It can be restored. Show some interest.
