Toddlers age 2 to 4 and accompanied by a parent are invited to participate in “Messy Mondays,” June 10 through Aug. 5. Scheduled each Monday throughout the summer, the Messy Mondays program uses art to help teach toddlers hand/eye coordination.
Messy Mondays is a drop-in program – no registration required – and costs $5 for each day of participation
Older kids, age 5 to 7, have the opportunity to attend the “Arty Farty” themed art week at the MARC. The facility offers three different themed camps throughout the month of June, including a toy-themed week, “Famous Artists,” and “Legos, Hot Wheels and Barbie Cars.” Students in the Arty Farty camps meet for two hours each day for activities that include drawing, painting, building, sculpting and storytelling. The week ends with an art exhibit for parents and grandparents.
The toy-themed week will be June 10-14; Famous Artists is June 17-21; and the Legos, Hot Wheels and Barbie Cars program is June 24-28. Classes are from from 1 to 3 p.m. each day and the cost is $65 per week.
The MARC will also offer “Midweek Mayhem,” a shorter version of art camp for 8- to 10-year-olds. Students in this class will learn to build, sculpt, paint, and print using more advanced tools, according to the news release.
A Midweek Mayhem class focusing on miniatures will be held June 11-12, and a June 18-19 class focuses on block prints and cartoons. The cost is $25 per week.
The MARC is located at 111 East 100 North. For more information or to register for classes, call 435-259-6272.
