Dozens of performers from the community are scheduled to perform in the show, singing a variety of favorite hits from memorable Broadway musicals. The show will also feature groups of young children who will be attending the precursory “Broadway Junior” camp March 6-10, with the kids getting to perform their numbers on stage during the big show the following week.
Admission will be $8 for adults, $5 for students and seniors, with a $25 group discount ticket available for members of the same immediate family. Once again, the proceeds will go to support the GCHS drama and music programs.
At 6:30 p.m. both nights, a half-hour before the start of the show, the GCHS jazz band will be providing prelude music as the audience members take their seats.
Some of the show’s featured songs include “Wells Fargo Wagon” from “Music Man,” “Sherry” from “Jersey Boys,” “You Gotta Have Heart” from “Damn Yankees,” “The Rain in Spain” from “My Fair Lady,” “Singin’ in the Rain,” “Raise the Voice” from “Sister Act,” “Not Dead Yet,” from "Spamalot,” “For Good” from “Wicked” and “When I Grow Up,” from “Matilda.”
“Come join us for a star-studded evening of Broadway’s most popular tunes, performed by talented members of our community,” said Gail Wakefield, one of the show’s directors.
