She married Ralph Marksberry on July 3, 1949, and they lived in Delta, Colo., for a time, before moving to Moab, Utah, where she worked for many years at Miller’s Supermarket, Foodtown and Maverik. After Ralph’s death, she moved to Norwood, Colo., for a short time and then back to Delta, where she spent her final years.
“Madge/Maggie” was a strong and loving woman with a sharp wit and a keen mind. She was always grateful for everything she had and made the most of even the bad times in her life. She loved going for drives and having coffee with her friends, sitting in the sun and smelling the flowers in her niece’s garden.
She is survived by her children, Denice Hoffman and Mark Marksberry; four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her eight siblings: Delbert, Hazel, Elizabeth, Homer, James, Leroy, Leon Burson and Juanita Burson-Boyd.
At her request, there will be no services. Taylor Funeral Home is in charge of burial arrangements. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory. View the obituary and sign the online guest registry at taylorfuneralservice.com.
