The race features trails in the North Klondike area. Local race director and multi-sport athlete Danelle Ballengee said she expects to see the race grow quickly and “potentially become a championship event.”
The running course features the Dinosaur Stomping Ground track, a foot-travel only trail that goes by a dinosaur track site. Trail Mix, local paleontologists and the Sierra Club built the track and the nearby Mega Steps Trail. The area is what paleontologists call the “Dinosaur Dance Floor.”
According to Balengee, the bike course features single track mixed with slickrock, red dirt and scenic views.
