Rep. Mike Noel’s recent bill proposing the “Donald J. Trump Utah National Parks Highway” is a very degrading proposal for the State of Utah and our country. Trump is a well-known professional con man, narcissist and pathological liar who avoided any form of military or other public service.

As a former Army officer and war veteran, I find this proposal insulting to the residents of Utah. Given Trump’s behavior, having his name on a major highway is completely inappropriate. I saw a lot of young Americans sacrifice everything they had for this country. If the highway needs to be renamed, why not call it the “The Utah Purple Heart National Parks Highway” to honor those Utahans killed or wounded while serving their country?
