Our dear wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister Vicki Jeanne Barber (formerly Vicki Jeanne Slighting) passed away in the presence of loved ones at her home in Spanish Fork, Utah on April 14, 2018.

Born Feb. 4, 1942 in Salt Lake City to Howard Pierce Crabtree and Betty Jeanne Allsop, Vicki grew up in the Avenues where she met Adrian Nicholas Slighting, Jr., to whom she was sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on May 29, 1958. Together, Vicki and Adrian raised four boys — Scott (Melinda), Alan (Nena), Dale (Melody, deceased), and Brad (Anna) — teaching them the values of hard work, education, service and sacrifice. All of Vicki’s boys were raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and were taught by her and Adrian to love the Savior.

Following Adrian’s passing in February 1998, Vicki married Norman Carl Barber. At the time of her marriage to Norm, on May 26, 2001, Vicki became a mother to his 10 children — Juli Newby (Miles), Lauri Smith, Robert (Joyce), Thomas, Timothy (Carmen), Kimberli Debois, Ashli Sorenson (Ryan), Jeremi (Haylee), James (Melanie) and Wesli (Sandy) — loving each of them as her own. Vicki and Norm resided in Moab for most of their marriage, owning and operating Red Rock Dental. Vicki took great pleasure and pride in her four boys, Norm’s 10 children, her 45 grandchildren, and her eight great-grandchildren. Those who knew and loved Vicki will best remember her as fun-loving, hard-working, generous, courageous, and, most importantly, as a faithful daughter of her Heavenly Father. We will miss her dearly.

Vicki is survived by her husband Norm, her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her brother Stephen Crabtree (Janett).

Family and friends are warmly invited to attend funeral services for Vicki on Saturday, April 21 at 10 a.m. at the Harvest Park Chapel, 1068 South 1600 West (U.S. Route 89) in Mapleton, Utah. Viewings will be held on Friday, April 20 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 187 South Main St. in Spanish Fork, Utah and on Saturday, April 21 from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Harvest Park Chapel. Interment will follow at the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
