Luann Marie Dean, 1953~2018
Luann Dean joined her family and friends in Heaven on Sept. 10, 2018. Luann was born Nov. 14, 1953 to Virginia and Gordon Jones. She was the fifth of eight children. Luann is survived by her sisters Lynne and Radene, brothers Raymond, Jeff and Steven, sons Christian (Brenda) and Brandon, beautiful granddaughter McKinnley, many nieces and nephews and a multitude of friends who she made her family. Luann has reunited with her older brother and sister, Vernon and Shauna.

In 1972 Luann married Garth Dean, and they had two sons, Christian and Brandon. Her sons were the love of her life and gave her much happiness and pride. In the 1970s, Luann visited the Moab area and declared that she was going to make this red dirt the floor of her home.

In 1977 she moved to Castle Valley, where she built a home and raised her amazing two sons working at the Forest Service office and whatever she could do to make it work. Luann embraced the Moab lifestyle and became active in all aspects of the area.

In 1993 LuAnn moved to St. George, Utah via Quartzite, Arizona to take care of her parents until they returned to heaven. Of course, in typical Luann style, she embraced the area and made St. George her home until her passing.

Luann lived life with energy and abundance of joy, and most of all she had a free spirit. She had a way of making everything more fun and people comfortable. She will be dearly missed, but will live on in the hearts of her friends and family.

A memorial service will be held Nov. 3, 2018 at Old City Park from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Come share your memories of this wonderful woman in a celebration of her life.
