Dennis J. (Bo) Boarts, 61, passed away April 25, 2008 at Allen Memorial Hospital in Moab.
Bo was born Oct. 23, 1946 in Meadville, Penn. to Stanley L. and Helen M. Shea Boarts. The family moved to Oklahoma when he was young, and when Dennis was 17 he joined the U.S. Navy. He served in the Navy full-time then as a reserve until 1970.
He worked as a laborer most of his life in construction, and sign painting. In 1996 Dennis moved to Moab, where he lived and worked at Pack Creek Campground. He was best known in Moab for his fight for the Constitution and he would be recognized by his truck covered with words about the Militia.
Bo enjoyed playing his guitar, singing and fishing, reading scriptures.
He is survived by a daughter, Tammy Jo Benight, of Mannford, Okla.; his mother Helen Boarts of Norman, Okla.; two sisters Janeille (David) Lasell, and Darlene (J.R.) Swain, both of Norman, Okla.; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Stanley.
