Lowell Losen, 1937 ~ 2008

Lowell Losen passed away on Wednesday June 25, 2008 at his home.

Lowell was born in Winneshiek County, Iowa on June 26, 1937 to Joseph and Gilma Baarsgaard Losen. After high school Lowell joined the Army, serving in the Korean conflict and serving active duty after the war. Later on he became a ranch hand for Steve Forbes of Forbes magazine, and after that he moved to Ukiah, Calif. In 2007 he moved to Utah, settling in Moab where he made his home at Rockridge senior apartments.

Lowell was an active member of the Jehovah’s Witness church, and loved photography.

Lowell is survived by a sister, Hope Lundquist of Siskiyou County, Calif.; nieces, Karen (Joe) Thunderburg, and Zoe Ann (Lee)Watt of Bellflower, Calif.; and Marc (Cheryl) Johnson of Porterville, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Annette, Pierce, Cecile, Gloria, Jones, Raphael (Ray).

At Lowell’s request, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held July 19 at the Ukiah Kingdom Hall.
