Virginia Lillian Phillips, also known as “Turbo Granny,” or “Granny,” died Oct. 2, 2008 in Murray, Utah. She was born Nov. 9, 1939 in Chicago, Ill., and was a resident of Moab for the past nine years.
Granny could often be seen cruising in her red scooter, which brought her much independence and happiness. She was a very tenacious, quick witted, interesting person, and will be missed.
Ginger is survived by a multitude of grandchildren including, Kira Phillips (Coalville, Utah), Zoryn and Xandria Thompson (Ashland, Ore.), and her children, Dale Phillips (La Marque, Tex.), Dolly Thompson (Moab), Mike Zirbel (Kenosha, Wis.), and Alexis Sweet (Phoenix, Ariz.). She is preceded in death by her oldest son, Charles Phillips.
Memories of Granny will be shared at a gathering at the home of her daughter, Dolly, 2741 Angel Rock Road, on Friday, Oct. 10, between 2 and 4 p.m.
