Alice E. Dalton, of Grand Junction, Colo., passed away Oct. 10, 2008 at Grand Junction Community Hospital after a sudden illness. She was 89.
Alice was born on Sept. 26, 1919 in Leadville, Colorado to Harrison Dennis and Josie Mae Yoch Call. She attended school in Leadville and Moab.
On May 14, 1939 Alice married R. Pat Dalton in Moab, and later their marriage was sealed in the Manti Temple. And from this union three children were born and the family lived in Moab. They later moved to Leadville, and later to Whitewater at Purdy Mesa. Pat preceded Alice in death on April 1, 1997.
Alice attended the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was a member of the Cowbells of Kannah Creek ladies group. She enjoyed crafts, sewing, knitting and crocheting. She enjoyed life and loved to dance.
Alice leaves behind three children – two sons, Pat Dalton, of Whitewater, Colo., and Dennis Dalton, of Ogden, Utah, and a daughter; Vonda Williams, of Carbondale, Colo.
Other survivors include a brother, Phillip Ashcroft of Seattle, Wash., and two sisters, Josie Lister and Marie Flager, both of Grand Junction. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband, a sister, Evelyn Flager, an infant sister, Mary Call, and three brothers, Winfield Call, Billy Call and Martin Call.
A funeral service was held Tuesday, Oct. 14 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 11th Ward, in Grand Junction. Interment was at Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements were under the care and direction of Martin Mortuary.
