Harold Edd Provonsha, age 84, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2008, in Moab. He was born on March 14, 1924 in Montrose, Colo.
He attended grade school in La Sal and high school in Moab. In 1944, Harold was drafted into the Navy. On March 14, 1947, Harold married the love of his life, Wilma (Billie) Garlett. Harold worked as a well-respected instrument technician in Moab and in Arizona.
He and Billie enjoyed rock hunting, archery and rifle hunting. He was a member of NRA, Points and Pebbles Club of Moab, Elks, and Community Church of Moab.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edd and Isabella Provonsha; brother, Dan, and sisters, Marie and Sofrona.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Wilma Provonsha; daughters, Ann Oates of Moab, Ginger Harvey of Keams Canyon, Ariz., and Susan Provonsha of Eleele, Hawaii; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Services were held at the Community Church in Moab on Nov. 3, and he was laid to rest in the Sunset Cemetery in Spanish Valley. Special thanks to all the day and night shift at Allen Memorial Hospital, and the doctors and staff who attended him.
He will be missed by many.
