Shannon June Shepardson died peacefully at 6:45 p.m. on Nov. 13, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction, Colo., surrounded by her family. She was 44 years old.
Shannon was born in Ogden, Utah on June 9, 1964, but grew up in Moab. She graduated from Grand County High School in 1982 and later married Dwayne Shepardson. They had two daughters, Brittney and Hannah. They later divorced.
Shannon loved to cook and bake and she was noted for her delicious pies. Shannon loved little kids and they loved her too. She enjoyed crafts of all kinds, camping, hiking, and everything outdoors. She could play the flute and the piccolo just beautifully. Shannon had a smile and a laugh that would light up any room.
She was preceded in death by her mother, June Tangren, and brother-in-law, Vern Shepardson. She is survived by her father, L. Garth Tangren (Alice) of Moab; daughters, Brittney Dawn Young (Mitch) of Moab, and Hannah Mary Shepardson of Okmulgee, Okla.; sisters, Julia Shepardson of Moab, Shauna Jones (Kenny) of Moab; brother, Shane Tangren (Deb) of Moab; one grandson, Landon Young, and another grandson, Preston Young, to be born in January, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 21, at the LDS Stake Center on Locust Lane in Moab. Internment will be at Grand Valley Cemetery. Arrangements are by Kimmerle-Hefner Funeral Home.
