Dona Jane Ruhter loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed on to her Heavenly Father on March 21, 2009 after a long illness at the age of 79 at the home of daughter, Arlene Bradshaw in Winnemucca, Nev.
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. We are all comforted knowing she is now in the loving embrace of God and with her family in heaven. Dona was born on Aug. 16, 1929 to Armena and John Wesley Newman in Holbrook Ariz.
Dona was a 50-year member of International Society-Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She also was a very accomplished seamstress and loved doing her genealogy work.
Dona is survived by her husband, D. W. Ruhter; three sisters, Muma (Ron) Goodrich, Ellen (Jack) Lefler, Cathy (Jim) Lefler, and one brother, Fred (Naoroi) Newman; her six children, Eddie (Yong Fang) Harvey, Keith (Nadya) Harvey, Judy (Julius) Fredericks, Arlene (Audrey) Bradshaw, Charlene (Dave) Neal and Janie (Mike) Hoi and four step-children, Raymond (Bonnie) Ruhter, Roger (Dana) Ruhter, John Wayne Hall and Linda Bell Hall.
Dona was blessed with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Dona will be greatly missed by her family, but her legacy shall live on for generations to come.
Preceding her in death were parents, Armena and John Wesley Newman, brother, John Newman, sister, Dorothy Moore, son, Ocie Hall, step-daughter, Connie Ruhter, daughter-in-law, Gail Harvey, grandchild, Wes Harvey, great-grandchild, Juan Acevedo Hotz, and great-grandchild, Nathan Twitchell.
Funeral services will be held at the LDS church on Locust Lane on Saturday March 28 at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens following the church service. Arrangements are by Kimmerle-Hefner Funeral Home.
