Robert Joseph Ossana was born Oct. 28, 1943 and died April 23, 2009. He was born in Price, Utah to Helen Brooks and Robert C. Ossana.
He has two older siblings, Tom and Roberta. The family moved to Moab in 1953. Robert attended Grand County High School.
Robert married Susan Burton in 1971. They had a daughter, Autumn, in 1980. Robert had previously been married to Nancy Melich. They had two children, Shelley and Christopher.
Robert was known as the premier flea-marketer in southeastern Utah. He had a cadre of clients who were anxious for him to bring them treasures. They didn’t know when, but they knew he would find them.
He was well known locally as an avid bike rider. One of his recent hallmarks was to ride his bike up to the Arches on his 65th birthday.
Robert is survived by his wife, Susan; his daughter, Autumn; son-in-law Joey Mitchell, and his two granddaughters, Portia and Bianca. He will be sorely missed by his many friends and other family members.
There was a Mass for the Repose of the Soul on Monday, May 4, and a celebration of his life was held at Old City Park on May 6.
