Robert “Cleve” Sowell passed away unexpectedly May 31, 2009 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Cleve was born June 24, 1986 to Mike and Sherilyn Sowell in Moab.
At the time of his death Cleve was trying to find a new life in the big city. Cleve’s love for life is his 16-month-old daughter Kialyn.
Cleve was a graduate of Grand County High School with the class of 2005. He was a great baseball player, only seeing the bench one time because he wouldn’t wear his glasses.
He worked throughout various jobs in Moab Valley. He was a friend to everybody and had a smile that would light up the room. Cleve had many challenges in his life during the last three years. He will always be remembered for his willingness to help his family and friends.
Cleve is preceded in death by his father, Mike Sowell, sister, Kelly Rae Sowell, brother, Kevin D. Holter, grandparents, Ted and Recie Sowell and Robert D. Livingston, and aunt, Deanne McGuffee.
He is survived by his mother, Sherilyn Sowell, a daughter, Kialyn Rae Sowell, and brothers, Mike D. Sowell (Seritta) of Vernal, Utah, Clifford (Kami) Sowell of Moab, Kyle A. Holter (Andrea) of Moab, and sister, Tracy L. Ho1ter (Johnny Nettik) of Rocky Ford, Colo. He is also survived by his grandmother, Ellen Livingston of Grand Junction, Colo., aunt, Rhonda (Gordon) Wilke of Wylie. Tex., uncle, Gary (Joyce) of Las Vegas, Nev., 12 nieces and nephews and many cousins and other dear friends.
A viewing will be Friday June 5 from 6-8 p.m. at the Kimmerle-Hefner Funeral Home on 100 West. Cleve will be laid to rest Saturday June 6 at Sunset Memorial Cemetery. Services will be held at the LDS 2nd Ward on 400 North at 10 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, an account, in the name of the Sowell Family, is being set up at Wells Fargo Bank to help the family in this difficult time with various expenses.
