DeVern “Ditto” Dickerson passed away at his home in Moab, Utah on Sunday, Feb 14, 2010. He was born March 27, 1952 in Nephi, Utah to George Thomas Dickerson and Relda Mae Archibald Dickerson.
DeVern was an avid outdoorsman particularly fond of rock collecting and hunting. To his family, he was very devoted both as father and grandfather. His grandchildren were truly the love and joy of his life.
DeVern worked as a project manager for TIC since 1982 and has been able to live and work in many places such as Death Valley, Calif., Summitville, Colo., Challis, Idaho, and most recently St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands.
While working he met and later married Terryl McCrillis and the two have shared 21 years together.
He is preceded in death by his parents. DeVern is survived by his wife, Terryl; children, Brett (Cindy) Dickerson of Salt Lake City, Kim Dickerson of Salt Lake City, Randy (Jennifer) Suter of Moab, Courtney (Ray Gordon) Payton of Rocklin, Calif; brothers, Vereald (Shauna) Dickerson, Conrad (Kathy) Dickerson; sisters, Karleen (Lewis) Seymour, Verleen (Danny) Striblen, Darleen (Kevin) Nelson; and 13 grandchildren.
There will be a viewing at noon on Saturday, Feb. 20, with funeral services following at 1 p.m. at the Moab LDS Stake Center. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
