Harold Leroy Nation, 77, of Montrose, Colo., passed away on April 6, 2010. He was born in Dupuyer, Mont. on May 23, 1932 and lived his early years in Browning, Mont.
While there, he married Delores Preston of Browning and together they had seven children. They later divorced and he married his current wife, Joyce Muller, who currently lives in Montrose and St. George, Utah.
Harold was preceded in death by both of his parents, two brothers, two sisters, his former wife, and a grandson, Matt Relph of Moab.
Harold is survived by his four sons, Jess Nation (Lucy) of Moab, Michael Nation (Yvonne) of Great Falls, Mont., Roger Nation of Galveston, Texas, and Gordon Nation (Rachel) of Browning, Mont. His surviving daughters are, Barbara Schwend of Kent, Wash., Marilyn Marks of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., and Sharon Relph (Rich) of Moab. Harold also had 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Harold was an entrepreneur and was in the motel business on old Route 66 in New Mexico for several years, then later in Green River and Moab. He enjoyed hunting and snowmobiling and the outdoors, in general.
Funeral arrangements were made by Crippin Funeral Home. A funeral mass was held at St. Mary’s church in Montrose on Saturday, April 10 at 10 a.m. followed by interment at Cedar Cemetery. A reception was held at the Elks Club following the service
