Michael D. Swasey passed away suddenly, of natural causes, on June 9, 2010 in Durango, Colo.
Mike was born Aug. 3, 1961 in Moab, Utah, to Gerald Robert Swasey and Verla Lile. He graduated from Grand County High School.
Later, he married Susan Tibbitts on June 12, 1982 and they have two sons, Morgan and Carson.
Mike worked for Texas Gulf, in Moab, for several years before transferring to Green River, Wyo., where he worked for 15 years. In 2000, the family moved to Farmington, N.M., so that Mike could take a job working for Williams Pipeline.
An avid outdoorsman, Mike was especially fond of hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time in the outdoors with his family.
Mike is preceded in death by his grandparents. He is survived by his wife, Susan; sons, Morgan (Brooke) Swasey and Carson; granddaughter, Addyson Swasey; brothers, Jerry (Debbie) Swasey, Duane (Liz) Swasey, and sister, Terri (Art) Hines; his in-laws, Bob and Hallie Tibbitts;
A graveside service was held at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Moab, on Saturday, June 12.
A memorial fund has been set up in the name of Michael Swasey at Citizens Bank (505-599-0100), P.O. Box 4140, Farmington, N.M. 87499.
Arrangements were by Kimmerle-Hefner Funeral Home in Moab.
