James Allen “Jim” Wiler passed away Jan. 16, 2011 in Provo, Utah due to a massive stroke. He was born in Moab, Utah on May 23, 1962 to Bill and Verna Stone Wiler.
He married Sue Ellen Burger on Nov. 29, 2006 in Price, Utah.
Jim worked for Joy Global as a welder for the past 15 years. Previous to that, he worked in exploration drilling in the Newmont Gold mines at Barricks Gold Strike.
His passion was his motorcycle. He was riding as soon as the ice melted and he and Sue often talked of relocating to a place where the motorcycle riding season would be longer.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Burger Wiler, of Carbonville, Utah; mother, Verna Wiler and brother Mike Wiler of Moab; aunt, Mary Ann Wiler, of Moab; aunt, Vera Leiseth, of Grand Junction, Colo.; and uncle, Mike and aunt Mavis Stone, of Castle Dale, Utah.
He is preceded in death by his father, Bill Wiler, mother-in-law, Jane Burger, and both sets of grandparents.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 22, at 3 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Moab, Utah. Arrangements are by Kimmerle-Hefner Funeral Home.
