Sheldon Gene Brock, after a life full of challenges, returned to his Heavenly Father and to the arms of his beloved Grandmother on April 22, 2011 in Moab, Utah. Sheldon was born on Sept. 9, 1971 in Moab, Utah to Richard and Erma Jean Brock. Sheldon graduated from Grand County High School in 1990 and received a bachelor’s degree in anthropology from the University of Utah in 2000.
In 1998, Sheldon married the love of his life, Melissa Swenson. They were later divorced. From that union came his beautiful children, Gavin and Ryanna, whom he deeply loved. Not a day of his life went by that he did not think about his children. His greatest sorrow was that he was not able to watch them grow up.
Sheldon was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved football, country music, and spending time with his family. He had a great sense of humor and a kind heart for those he came in contact with. He was a good friend to many people throughout his life.
Sheldon is survived by his children; parents; sister, Sandee Burton (Brad); brother, Shawn Brock (Donna); five nephews and three nieces who all loved him. His grandparents preceded him in death.
The family wishes to thank those who cared for Sheldon during the past few years, especially his mom and dad and David Lewis, who befriended him and helped him feel accepted.
