Danny Allen Caviness, 58, passed away at his home in Moab on Aug. 10, 2011, following a battle with lung cancer. Danny was born Oct. 27, 1952 in Uravan, Colo. to Louie Corbett Caviness and Daisy Dennison.
Danny is survived by his wife, Tamara; his mother; brothers, Bill Caviness, Terry Caviness, Russell Caviness and Lee Bowerman; sisters, Patty Urch, Tedi Coe, Thelma Heth and Louise Johnston; stepchildren, Kiera Garber and Jake Garber; uncle, Fred Dennison; and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, two stepsisters and one stepbrother.
Danny attended Grand Junction High School. He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam, and was a member of the Moab VFW Post No. 10900. He was a carpenter throughout his life.
Cremation has taken place. Military services will be held Saturday, Sept. 24 at 10 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Moab.
