J.T. Loveridge passed away Sept. 22, 2011 at the Hospice Care Center in Colorado after an illness. He was 89.
J.T. was born on May 29, 1922 in Moab, Utah from the union of William Bryan and Emma (Sperry) Loveridge. He spent his childhood and graduated from high school in Moab. He was an honorably discharged veteran, serving overseas with the Army Air Corps.
He married Augusta (Gussie) Westcott in Aztec, N.M. on April 16, 1951. She survives. J.T. was a resident Rancher and Horseman in Fruita, Colo. for the past 43 years. He loved his horses and his family very much.
J.T. leaves behind his wife of 60 years, Gussie Loveridge of Fruita, Colo.; a son, Timothy and daughter-in-law Deborah Loveridge of Escondido, Calif.; a daughter, Emma Zoe Gatley of Grand Junction, Colo.; two sisters, Joan Jackson and Gayle Tangren, both of Moab; five grandchildren, Brian Thomas Gatley and Lindsey Ann Gatley of Grand Junction, Nathan Todd Loveridge of Escondido, Calif., Kelly Lucas of Bloomington, Ind., Katelyn Loveridge of Escondido, Calif; and three great-grandchildren, Jonathon Broderick Gatley-Metsker, Aleigh Michelle Lucas and Jackson William Gatley-Metsker.
A funeral service was held Monday, Sept. 26, at Martin Mortuary in Grand Junction. Graveside services will take place at the Grand Valley Cemetery, in Moab at 2:30 p.m. on Monday.
