Vera Rule passed away surrounded by family on May 16, 2012 at Moab Regional Hospital, after a brief illness.
Vera was born in Provo, Utah, on June 10, 1925 to Leonal and Blance Johnson. She was the fifth of eight children.
Vera married Marvin Rule in 1945. She had no children, but loved and was loved by many, including nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Vera and Marvin were married 56 years and lived in Jackson, Calif. Marvin preceded her in death.
Vera lived in Moab with her twin sister, Vesta Clements, for four years and in the Canyonlands Care Center since its opening Feb. 14, 2011.
She is survived by two sisters, Vesta Clements, Moab, and Arlene Parks, Salt Lake City, Utah; and one brother, Roland Johnson, Provo, Utah.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin; her mom and dad; and sisters, Leola West, Elfonda Sargent, Hester McFadden, and Zelma Kesler.
Memorial services will be held in Provo, Utah, at a later date.
