A male was arrested on June 22 at 1:37 a.m. for felony assault, according to Moab Police Department reports. The victim was his girlfriend.
The domestic dispute started with an argument, the victim reported, and ended with the male throwing the victim against the wall and strangling her while saying, “I’m going to kill you.” Afterward, the victim reported difficulty breathing and was taken to the hospital to be checked. At the hospital, police documented her injuries, which included “obvious red marks and bruising on her neck.”
The male subject was on parole at the time.
Upon being arrested, the male said that the victim had attacked him. Officers documented a scratch on his cheek and a bruised lip. The subject said that both he and the victim had been drinking.
The victim filled out a domestic violence no-contact order.
