The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources has installed guzzlers in the roadless areas of the Book Cliffs to help provide water to bison, deer and other wildlife
The project was conducted Tuesday, June 26, according to a press release from the DWR. Guzzlers are large devices that catch and store water from snow and rain. They provide drinking water for wildlife and are especially important in hot, dry years. DWR personnel will install three guzzlers in the roadless area of the Book Cliffs. Bison, mule deer, elk, black bears and many other species will use the guzzlers to obtain drinking water during the dry summer months, officials say. The guzzlers were flown in by helicopters to the installation sites.
