Dorothy (Dotty) Carpenter passed away at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2018, in Moab, Utah. She was 97 years old and had been in the hospital with pneumonia.
Dotty is survived by her brother, Jerry Davis, from Fruita, Colorado, and his wife Carol; her brother, Jimmy Davis, from Moab, and his wife Babs; and her sister, Joyce Day, from Arizona.
Dotty was born to Carl and Irene Ferguson in Judsonian, Arkansas on March 9, 1921, and later married the late William Carpenter of Sepulveda, California, where they lived since the 1950s. She moved to Moab in the mid-1990s to be near her family. She was a beloved sister and aunt to five generations. She liked to do ceramics, sewing, knitting, cooking, and was like a second mother to her many nieces and nephews.
Each of us will sorely miss Dotty.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday Aug. 17, at the Community Church. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
