Events in Moab have seemingly slowed to a trickle as the tourist season slows and Thanksgiving approaches, but runners will be happy for the Dead Horse 50 mile, 50K and 30K races that take off Nov. 18 The course featured the Magnificent Seven Trails off of Gemini Bridges, sandy washes, technical slickrock and views of Moab, the La Sal Mountains and Arches National Park.

Enjoy some fun, low-impact exercise at the contra dance, Saturday, Nov. 17 at the Moab Arts and Recreation Center. No partner or experience is needed. A workshop for beginning dancers is at 7:30 p.m., and the dance begins at 8 pm. Live music will be provided by the Moab Community Dance Band with caller Peg Harty. There is a $7 suggested donation for Grand County school music programs.
