Bill Hopkins passed away on Jan. 2, 2019 at home in Moab surrounded by family. He was born in Del Norte, Colorado on March 20, 1951 to Aline Page Hopkins and William Ezra Hopkins. He married Cheryl Gines on Sept. 7, 1994.
Bill served in the Navy during the Vietnam war. He was a 2nd Class Seaman with an honorable discharge. He worked at many different jobs in his life: Mining, drill rigs, seismograph, mechanic, donut fryer, housekeeping, carpenter, heavy equipment, truck driver, construction, gravel pits, jockey, bartender, farmer, rancher and hippie.
He loved hunting and fishing, camping, going shooting with his kids and grandkids, and riding horses. He was always willing to help anyone who needed it and was a father figure to many.
He had five children: Chris (Steph) of Colorado, Will (Tara) of Utah, Allie (Jon) of Montana, Venny ( Jenn) of Utah and Casey (Misty) of Colorado. He had 16 grandchildren and one on the way. He had 12 siblings.
He is survived by his wife, children and grandchildren. He is also survived by six siblings: Dee of Utah, Barbara of South Carolina, Le-onard of Colorado, D ennis of S outh Carolina, Donna of Missouri and Rick of Utah.
He was preceded in death by his parents and six siblings: Ruby, Charles, Marvin, John, Don Wayne, and Rod.
