BEACON strings musicians present HMK recital, flash mob may be in the offing

Beacon string students performed “Hot Cross Buns,” “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star,” “Oh! Susanna,” and other favorites during a spring recital held March 14 at HMK Elementary.

“We’re going to have some flash mobs coming up soon,” said program coordinator Tamara Freida. “Those are essentially impromptu performances out in the community so it’s not just parents and kids’ families seeing what they do. The kids will perform somewhere in town.”

More than 20 students with three to eight years of experience played violins, violas and cellos.
