I feel privileged to live, work and be a member of the community in the beautiful town of Moab. Like many of the folks here, I am appreciative of the unique desert landscapes–so unique, it often beckons artists here from all walks of life.
The progress of the mural at Rotary Park has been inspiring to watch and the final piece does not disappoint. The art is bold with bright colors and whimsical shapes. It adds pop to the otherwise typical parks we see in town.
This type of artwork takes roots in graffiti–a style rich in history from not only the United States, but the world. I feel so lucky to have a different take on art in our small town. Art is subject to different interpretations, so it’s only natural that others may disagree and give critique. That being said my mom told me very wise words at a young age: “If you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say it at all.”
Thank you to the artist for giving this town such a colorful restroom – it is truly one of a kind.
