The Red Devils track and field team went to the Utah Valley University High School Invitational on Saturday, March 30, in Orem. Over 50 schools participated in the event. The boys team placed eighth, the girls took 10th. Overall, the boys and girls combined landed in ninth place.
Eli Hazlett took first in the 400-meters, third in the 200-meters and fifth in the 100-meters for the boys. Connor Guerrero placed fourth in the 300-meters hurdles, also for the boys. Malachi Ricks placed seventh in the boy’s 3,200-meter race. Carlin Bierscheid placed eighth in boys shot put. Morgan Lewis landed in eighth place in the girls high jump. Veda Gritts took first in the shot put and second in the javelin.
The Grand County field and track team is scheduled to attend the Templeview Invite in Manti on Saturday, April 6.
